Swan River at Tree Time

It was easier to see them today. They have chosen a nice place to live.

I wonder if they would like me to give them some bread, or should they just be left to live wild and undisturbed? They did notice me again, but seemed neither interested nor fearful. To interact or just observe? We should remember that we are a part of nature, so whatever we do is as natural as whatever anything else does. Which could be used to excuse anything we do as natural, unfortunately... But still, just to offer a bit of bread? I think I know which way they would choose. But... to think before acting, or just to act? To ponder or just to do? To do or just... oh, dooby dooby do... Why do I always try to think things through?

Moonlight night

From the East came the moonlight, bouncing off the water

while from the West the sunlight skimmed overhead to bounce back off the moon

'Nice, but it's a shame you have only one moon,' said Aileen.

"Do you people understand the difference between climate and weather?" Aileen asked.

"I think so."

"But not the difference between consciousness and thought?"

"I'm not sure what you mean," I replied, frowning.

"No. You're not. I can see that," she said, smiling.

I hate it when she gives that superior smirking little smile that makes me feel so stupid.

A day at the centre of the universe

"Everywhere is at the centre of everything, just like any place on Earth is at the centre of the surface of that sphere... it's the same distance all the way round in any direction wherever you are... only in more dimensions when we are talking about the universe, of course."

"Of course... But not quite the day out that you had promised me, really."

"Less travelling though. Less bother. Just enjoy."

"Look at that shadow that you cast, and compare it with the complexity of the real you. That is the level at which you can comprehend the universe. You see the mere shadows of the truth, not the truth. Does that sound familiar?"

And of course, it did.

Looking down from the Ochils

Here is a view from a skim down the Ochil Hills, looking north across wide Strathearn to the snow-covered Grampian mountains just visible far beyond. It's a shame that photographs flatten out such a view, but still, it's nice. I persuaded Aileen to fly upside down so that I could get a photo of home that was the right way up, but this just rekindled an argument that will never be settled, I reckon. "Does the universe really have an Up?" I demanded, only to be asked, "Which universe?" in return. Foreigners... Sigh.

The right way up

According to Aileen, anyway,

and it does look nice in a different way too, I agree,

and here is one she took herself:

and then at the moment below, I had just finished asking her if she really knew what she was doing, while she was asking me, 'Do you realise that you have very big ears?'

Never a dull moment when Aileen is around.

A lot of vibration in the space-time turbulence too.

Just three clicks

Blue Night Sky

Thomas Henry Huxley

Thomas Henry Huxley
has ceased to be
but across the dark divide of death and time
just made me think of something
which may be important for me
So thank you kindly

Sky colours again

Aileen again

Ah... Aileen the Alien, back to take me on another quick antigravity joyride and remind me not to forget her while those supposed 'superior beings' Adrig and Edrig have been claiming my more recent attention. She is a very special lady, our Aileen. There is nobody quite like her. I have a further true but unlikely to be believed tale to tell but I am not quite sure when or where yet. There are inter-dimensional negotiations to resolve and a few avenues to explore. Still, it was lovely to see her. I did ask for a quick shot at the controls again but she said, 'No way.' Her book is selling well in another dimension. She has called it Andrew the Alien. Not very original, but appropriate, I suppose. Maybe it will come out in a box set with my one eventually. She has a funny way with words, and a rather impolite way of describing my attributes and characteristics. But she sees things very differently from how we do.

Another Sunrise

I'm getting quite a few nice sunrises this year, although that will all soon end when the sun starts rising before I do.
