I do like McDonald's coffee, especially the latte made with semi-skimmed 'organic' milk (though I wonder what inorganic milk would be...), and I like that I am welcome to plug my laptop into their electricity, and I like their free wifi, and their seats are very comfortable for me and so I do quite a lot of work there, but I am very wary of the fatty salty sugary food.
...and I sampled coffee and wifi in three places today (while ladies shopped) and the McDonald's coffee was the cheapest and also the best. I am coming down from the caffeine molecule high now. I have demanded McDonald's get decaff coffee, and have been told "there is no demand for it". They clearly did not hear what I demanded :)
At one point I was addicted to a Big Mac-a-week. Then I stopped completely for health reasons. But for a few years, on my Birthday, my son would bring me to MacDonald, as a very special treat. My snobbish sisters thought it was cheap! I didn't care.
After an absence of 5 years, I had a Big Mac, a month ago. And I couldn't finish it. It proves what I always said that MacDonald puts some stuff in Big Mac so people become addicted. You have to give it up completely to be cured.
And what a juxtaposition. I can do without the arches - but love the skies. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteThat top photo makes McD almost enticing...
ReplyDeleteBut I am still not convinced!!
It is admirable that you are prepared to suffer whilst your ladies shop! :-)
My lady doesn't drive, so it'll be two hours snuggled down in Cafe Rocco for me tomorrow - newspaper, netbook, wifi, peace... Such a chore :)
ReplyDeleteThose skies are so beautiful...

You're right about the coffee. It's the best.
I've never had a Big Mac, and probably never will. I thought you'd like the sky. Someone puts something in the sky so people become addicted :)
ReplyDeleteEye for an anomaly, DQS.
ReplyDeleteA bit of a Beauty and The Beast shot perhaps, James
