Armistice... Fight on...
The 12th day of November 1918
was not what some might allude
as humans fighting humans
actually just continued
and carried on, and on
with some war waging every dawn
Wars are always with us
never gone
And at the going down of the sun
and in the morning
we still fight on
Armistice day in the eyes of those who choose to remember it, isn't humans fighting humans. It is about remembering the sacrifices, the loss of life and the futility of war.
ReplyDeleteThe wars are caused by in-humans, the little humans are not interested in and do not want those wars.
But the little humans don't speak out... and the reason for that is very complex.
I am a little person (metaphorically speaking). I have spoken out - about Iraq and Afghanistan most recently. I was dismissed, along with many other little people, as irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteAnd still we fight on.
Well put but I wish it weren't the case

ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteBut speaking of humanity, as I was, I repeat that, on the 12th November 2012
"...at the going down of the sun
and in the morning
we still fight on..."
